Brianna was 17 weeks into her pregnancy when doctors gave her devastating news:
She had NK cell leukemia, a rare and aggressive blood cancer.
Treatment needed to start immediatelyābut doing so would mean losing her baby.
“She didn’t hesitate,” said a family member. “She wanted her son to have a chance, even if it meant sacrificing hers.”

Due to complications, Kyden was born prematurely and lived for only 12 precious days.
Those days, Brianna said, were the best of her life.
She held him. Loved him. Made memories that would carry her through the darkest moments to come.

After Kydenās passing, Brianna refused to give up.
She battled her cancer with everything she had. At one point, doctors planned a bone marrow transplant, and hope began to grow.
When her condition worsened, her family raised money for an experimental treatmentāa final shot at survival.
But the cancer was relentless.
And on December 29, surrounded by loved ones, Brianna passed away.
She was just 19 years old.
