Michael “MJ” Dixon, a 12-year-old from Killeen, Texas, is now cancer-free after a tough three-year battle with leukemia. Diagnosed at age 8 with only a 23% survival chance, MJ beat the odds without a bone marrow match, thanks to aggressive chemo and a clinical trial drug.
The journey cost him his strength, his ability to play, and his cherished locs. But with his mom’s support, faith, and help from the community—including rapper Lil Boosie—MJ never gave up.
To celebrate, he rang the cancer bell and donated $2,000 in toys to other young patients. His advice: “Keep fighting, and just be you.”
