Powerful Quake Devastates Myanmar
A strong earthquake struck near the Myanmar–China border at 3:42 a.m., shaking parts of Thailand and causing panic evacuations.
Myanmar suffered the worst damage, with at least 48 dead, over 300 injured, and many still missing. In Lashio, buildings crumbled as rescue teams rushed to find survivors.
“It sounded like an explosion—then the ground rolled beneath us,” said Myo Thant, who fled with his family moments before their home collapsed.
