24-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing His Mother to Death

A 24-year-old man named Paiz was arrested in a dramatic scene filled with shouting and tears after being accused of fatally stabbing his mother, 53-year-old Kattia de los Ángeles Jara Sancho.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon. Witnesses captured the arrest on video, where officers could be heard saying, “He’s going to pay for what he did. He killed his mother.” Shocked bystanders expressed disbelief as they learned what had happened.

Family and neighbors say Kattia had been living in fear. Her son, believed to be a drug user, reportedly threatened her regularly and often demanded money.

Paiz is now in the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and is expected to appear in Heredia Court, where authorities will decide on further legal action.
