Rory Feek: Country Music Artist, Devoted Father, and Storyteller
Rory Feek, born April 25, 1965, in Atchison, Kansas, is a well-respected name in American country music—both as a gifted songwriter and as part of the beloved duo Joey + Rory. Before stepping into the spotlight, Rory penned hits for big names like Blake Shelton and Kenny Chesney.
His performing career took off in 2008 when he and his wife, Joey Martin, appeared on the CMT reality show Can You Duet. Their old-school country sound and heartfelt lyrics won over fans nationwide, with songs like “Cheater, Cheater” becoming fan favorites.
In 2014, Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Rory shared their emotional journey through his blog This Life I Live, opening up about their faith, love, and the painful road they walked together. Joey passed away in 2016, but Rory continued to share their story, touching hearts with his honesty and strength.
Today, Rory focuses on raising their daughter, Indiana, who was born in 2014 with Down syndrome. He’s been candid about the challenges and joys of parenting, often emphasizing that Indiana is simply a bright, happy child—not defined by a diagnosis, but by the love and light she brings to his life.
