Scott Allen Gardner, 33, has been arrested in Florida after the tragic death of his 18-month-old son, Sebastian. He’s facing charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and felony child neglect.

Authorities say Gardner left Sebastian alone in a hot car for nearly three hours. During that time, he reportedly went to get a haircut and then spent time drinking at a nearby bar.

When questioned by police, Gardner gave conflicting stories about what happened. Tragically, when emergency responders arrived, Sebastian’s body temperature had reached a fatal 111 degrees. Despite efforts to save him, it was too late.

Gardner was later found at his mother’s home, where the same officer who tried to resuscitate Sebastian placed him under arrest. Bodycam footage shows the emotional moment as Gardner is taken into custody, speaking only briefly to the officers.
