On Friday, May 17, 2025, country music legend Alan Jackson broke the news his fans had long dreaded—his touring days are officially over.
Standing on stage in front of a sold-out crowd in Milwaukee, the 66-year-old was visibly emotional as he shared, “This is the last road show of my career.” The announcement marked the end of his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour, and it left fans on their feet, many in tears, as they honored the icon with a powerful standing ovation.
Just over a week earlier, Jackson had performed a heartfelt rendition of “Remember When” at the 2025 ACM Awards—an appearance that sparked a wave of love and admiration across social media. While many had speculated this tour might be his last, Jackson finally made it official during the Milwaukee show.
But fans still have one more chance to see him live.
“We’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime,” he told the crowd. “It just felt right to end it all where it began—Nashville, Tennessee. Music City.”
Jackson has been candid about his health struggles. Back in 2021, he revealed he was battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic nerve disorder that causes muscle weakness and coordination issues, especially in the arms and legs.
“It’s been affecting me for years, and now it’s getting harder to hide,” he said in an earlier interview. “Even standing at the microphone is a challenge. I just want folks to understand what’s going on.”
As fans across the country say goodbye to one of country music’s greats on the road, they’ll be holding out hope for that one final farewell in the heart of Nashville.
