Woman Mauled by Polar Bear After Jumping Into Zoo Enclosure
A 32-year-old woman, identified as Mandy K., was seriously injured after jumping into a polar bear enclosure during feeding time at the Berlin Zoo. She climbed over multiple barriers before leaping into the habitat, where one of the bears attacked her.
Zookeepers rushed to help, distracting the bears and eventually rescuing her. Despite being bitten multiple times on her arms, legs, and back, Mandy survived and underwent surgery. She is now recovering in the hospital.
Reports say she was a teacher struggling with unemployment and emotional distress.
