On his first day at a fireworks factory in Esparto, 18-year-old Jesus Ramos was looking forward to becoming a dad. Tragically, he and his brothers, Johnny Ramos and Joel “Junior” Melendez Jr., were among seven people killed in a deadly explosion on July 1.
Jesus’ girlfriend, Syanna Ruiz, who is expecting their baby, called him “a good person” excited for their future. Just days earlier, Jesus had told his father he was going to be a grandfather.
The cause of the blast is still under investigation. A GoFundMe has been launched to help the family with funeral expenses and support.
