A crash near San Diego turned into a quiet act of heroism.

Firefighter Ryan Lopez spotted a frightened 4-year-old girl after a truck hit her family’s car. While others helped the injured, he held and comforted the child, staying with her until she felt safe.

“She just wanted to feel safe,” said Lopez, a father himself. Though praised, he humbly added, “Anyone would’ve done the same.”

In the chaos, his simple kindness made all the difference.
