While hiking through Jeffries Creek Park in Florence, South Carolina, Meredith Langley had a chilling encounter that she felt compelled to share online.
Langley posted a photo on Facebook of a massive brown snake she spotted sunbathing near the creek. The snake, several feet long and as thick as a tree root, was almost invisible against the dirt, perfectly camouflaged.
“Note how well he blends in with his surroundings,” she warned in her post—prompting shocked reactions from commenters, with one joking, “He’s probably swallowed somebody’s child already.”
Langley shared the image as a cautionary reminder for others to stay alert while enjoying nature.
