Adam Pearson: Turning Pain into Purpose
British actor and activist Adam Pearson was born with neurofibromatosis type I, a condition that causes tumors along nerves and dramatically changed his appearance. Despite bullying and discrimination growing up, Adam refused to let it break him.
Alongside his twin brother Neil, who also has the condition but looks different, Adam faced painful moments—one of the worst being a childhood humiliation by classmates. But he turned that hardship into fuel for advocacy.
After studying at Brighton University and working in TV production, Adam’s life changed when he was cast in Under the Skin with Scarlett Johansson. He’s since hosted powerful documentaries, earned award nominations, and become a leading voice for disability inclusion.
Now a motivational speaker, Adam inspires others by showing that strength comes from embracing who you are—and that every challenge can be turned into purpose.
