Country Star Lorrie Morgan Mourns the Loss of Her Husband, Randy White
Country music legend Lorrie Morgan is grieving the loss of her husband, Randy White, who passed away on Sunday, June 1, at the age of 72.
Randy was born on May 15, 1953, and studied at Volunteer State Community College. He later ran a successful landscaping business. He and Lorrie tied the knot in a private beachside ceremony in September 2010, blending their families—Randy had four children, and Lorrie had two of her own.
Together, they built a life full of love, family, and unforgettable memories over nearly 15 years of marriage.
In April 2024, Lorrie shared that Randy had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. One year later, in April 2025, she canceled several appearances after Randy was hospitalized in Tennessee. Longtime friend and fellow country star Pam Tillis stepped in to perform in her place on Alabama’s tour.
Sadly, Randy passed away early Sunday morning. Lorrie’s manager and close friend, Tony Conway, released a heartfelt statement on her behalf:
“Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
Lorrie also shared the message on her official Facebook page, along with a sweet photo of her and Randy at the Grand Ole Opry.
Her son, Jesse Keith Whitley—whose father, country singer Keith Whitley, passed away in 1989—also posted a moving tribute to Randy. Jesse, now almost 38, said Randy became a vital figure in his life starting in his early 20s.
“…From the time I was about 22 or 23, this great man has been there—loving my mom, and loving me and my sister like we were his own,” Jesse wrote.
He reflected on Randy’s deep faith, compassion, and quiet strength:
“He showed me love and taught me about having a relationship with Jesus—even though I grew up Catholic and had drifted a bit. He was the best grandfather my kids could’ve ever asked for. He picked me up at night when I shouldn’t have been driving, never got mad—just laughed and said he’d be there soon. Even the time I called him from jail, he just laughed and said, ‘Well, I’ll be there in a little bit…’”
Jesse remembered Randy as a gentle soul who offered unwavering love to their family. He ended his message with deep gratitude:
“As we say goodbye, I’m holding tight to all the good memories and the battles he helped me get through. The love pouring in from fans, family, and friends means the world. We’ll miss you forever, RanMan—but you fought one hell of a fight.”
Our thoughts are with Lorrie, Jesse, and everyone who loved Randy. May he rest in peace.
