Mom of Baby Born with Rare Facial Birthmark Shares Powerful Message About Beauty and Acceptance
Every person is unique—and that’s what makes us beautiful. Nicole Lucas Hallson, a proud mom of two, is on a mission to remind the world that our differences aren’t flaws—they’re what make us special.
Nicole is raising her two kids, Asher and baby Winry. When Winry was born, she had a rare birthmark called congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN), which covers about a quarter of her face. At first, Nicole was caught off guard. She thought the mark might be a bruise, but doctors quickly explained it was a rare skin condition.
Although the birthmark made Winry look different from most babies, Nicole’s love only grew stronger. Rather than hiding it, she’s chosen to celebrate it—and to teach others to do the same.
“We take extra precautions, like applying sunscreen and visiting the doctor regularly, since there’s a slightly increased risk of skin cancer,” Nicole explained. “But more than anything, we just want Winry to grow up confident and proud of who she is.”
Nicole shares Winry’s story to raise awareness and help other families embrace what makes them—and their kids—unique. Through photos, videos, and honest conversations, she’s spreading the message that beauty doesn’t have to fit a mold.
Winry, now a bright and energetic little girl, is already winning hearts with her joyful personality. Nicole says her daughter lights up every room—and she wants the world to see her for the radiant, one-of-a-kind child she is.
“We want people to understand that differences aren’t something to fear or hide,” Nicole says. “They’re something to celebrate. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful just as they are.”
By sharing their journey, Nicole hopes to inspire more acceptance, compassion, and confidence—for children and adults alike.
