In a tragic and shocking incident in India’s sweltering Barmer district, a camel turned on its owner after being left tied up for hours in extreme heat without water or shade.

The event took place back in 2016, during a brutal heatwave with temperatures soaring over 109°F. The camel, with its legs bound, was left to suffer under the scorching sun while its owner, Urjaram, hosted guests inside his home. When he finally returned to untie the animal, it was too late.

According to witnesses, the distressed and overheated camel snapped. In a violent outburst, it grabbed Urjaram by the neck, slammed him to the ground, and fatally attacked him. The assault was so intense it reportedly lasted for hours, with villagers struggling to control the animal.

Locals said there had been a long-standing tension between the camel and its owner, suggesting this tragic outcome may have been building for years.

Although camels are typically seen as gentle and loyal animals, experts caution that they can become dangerously aggressive when neglected or mistreated. Weighing over a ton and equipped with powerful jaws and kicks, camels are not to be underestimated.
