Bryan Kohberger Gets Life for Idaho Student Murders
Bryan Kohberger, 30, was sentenced to life without parole for killing four University of Idaho students in 2022 — Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin.
Unsealed documents reveal the brutality: Xana and Kaylee were stabbed repeatedly and tried to fight back. A terrified roommate saw a masked man but froze, unable to call for help.
Though a knife sheath was found, the weapon itself was never recovered. Kohberger acted strangely afterward, with visible scratches and obsessive habits, but gave no explanation.
At sentencing, he said just three words: “I respectfully decline.” The victims’ families called him heartless. He was also ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution.
