Pauline Potter, once known as the world’s heaviest woman at 678 pounds, has undergone a life-changing transformation that few could have imagined.
Viewers first met Pauline on Season 3 of My 600-Lb. Life in 2015, where she opened up about her struggles with food addiction, limited mobility, and the physical and emotional toll her weight had taken on her life. At the time, her daily diet included six scrambled eggs, half a pound of bacon, four hash browns, six slices of buttered bread, and an ice cream milkshake—just for breakfast.
Pauline was cared for by her son Dillon, whose devotion and concern for his mother were evident. Despite undergoing gastric bypass surgery, Pauline’s journey was far from easy. She later revealed she struggled with a painkiller addiction after surgery, saying, “The doctor fixed our stomachs, but he didn’t fix our minds.” Her words spoke to the complex emotional challenges that often accompany weight loss and recovery.
Her turning point came after she developed a life-threatening infection that required further surgery. Faced with the real possibility of losing her life, Pauline made the decision to fully commit to her health. Through determination, therapy, and continued medical support, she eventually lost over 500 pounds.
By 2022, Pauline had reached 223 pounds and, more importantly, reclaimed her independence—something she hadn’t experienced in years. She began sharing her progress online, where she now receives an outpouring of support from fans of the show and others on similar paths to wellness.
Today, Pauline looks almost unrecognizable from the woman who once needed constant care. She appears healthier, more confident, and deeply grateful for how far she’s come.
Her story is a powerful reminder that true transformation is about more than just weight—it’s about healing, perseverance, and believing in your own ability to change, one step at a time.
