Pauline Potter, once named the World’s Heaviest Living Woman by Guinness World Records, has stunned viewers by losing more than 500 pounds — and her transformation is nothing short of life-changing. Her incredible journey, chronicled on TLC’s hit show My 600-lb Life, has inspired fans across the country.

At her peak weight of around 700 pounds, Pauline relied on a motorized scooter just to get around. In a surprising twist, she admitted to intentionally gaining weight after her husband, Alex, revealed he was more attracted to larger women. While she initially leaned into her size, it wasn’t long before serious health issues and a declining quality of life made her rethink everything.

“I used to love being big, but I took it too far,” Pauline said during her appearance on My 600-lb Life. “It got to the point where I couldn’t even stand on my own—I needed help just to get up.”

Simple daily tasks became nearly impossible. Pauline shared the extreme measures she had to take to stay clean and avoid skin infections, including using a walk-in tub with a handheld showerhead and applying cornstarch to skin folds. Her son, Dillon, even had to step in and help with basic hygiene when she was no longer able to do it herself.

The turning point came in 2012, when Pauline contacted Guinness World Records in a last-ditch effort to get help. She was shocked to find out she officially held the record for the world’s heaviest living woman—but that moment also sparked a wake-up call.

Soon after, she joined My 600-lb Life and began working with renowned bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, known to fans simply as “Dr. Now.” With his guidance, Pauline committed to a strict weight-loss plan that included major lifestyle changes and eventually surgery. Her hard work paid off—she shed over 500 pounds.

Dr. Now gave her a well-earned shoutout on Instagram, writing, “I’m very proud of Pauline’s dedication. Surgery alone isn’t the answer—it’s a tool. True results come from long-term commitment and real effort.”

Fans were thrilled by her progress. “Pauline is one of my favorites from the show—what a transformation!” one person commented online. Another said, “She’s overcome so much. Truly an inspiration!”

Today, Pauline’s story is about far more than weight loss. She’s no longer defined by her size, but by her strength, determination, and willingness to fight for a better life. Her journey proves that with support and perseverance, even the toughest battles can be won.
