Rescued Puppy with a Big Appetite Has a Full Belly Thanks to You

Puppies are all about playtime, nap time—and snack time! Growing pups need a lot of food to stay healthy, and thanks to your generous support, rescues and shelters can keep their bowls full.

One rescue, A Lab For Life, recently shared a feel-good story that shows just how much of a difference your donations make.

Seven puppies were born as part of an accidental litter in rural Oklahoma. They were being given away for free when the rescue stepped in to make sure they found safe, loving homes.

This adorable bunch is a mix of golden retriever, Labrador, and poodle—fluffy, playful, and totally lovable. Each pup was given a baseball-themed name, with the biggest one of the litter earning the name “Roger Hornsby” (he goes by Hornsby).

At just three months old, Hornsby already tips the scales at 33 pounds—and he’s still growing fast! The rescue says, “Nothing but Purina One Large Breed Puppy Formula can keep up with his appetite.”

Hornsby is a total sweetheart and sure to find his forever family soon. For now, he’s just happy his food bowl is never empty—and he sends a big tail-wagging thank you to everyone who made it possible.

The rescue added, “Providing food for foster pups can be a big challenge and sometimes even a barrier for volunteers. A Lab For Life is incredibly thankful for the generous donations. We truly couldn’t do this without your support. The only thing a dog needs more than love is FOOD!”
