When Jodi, a spirited little Chihuahua mix, first arrived at the Valley Animal Center (VAC), staff were confident he wouldnโt be there long. With his bright eyes, playful personality, and affectionate nature, he seemed like the perfect candidate for adoption.
And he wasโat first. A family soon adopted him, but just a few weeks later, they brought him back, saying he was โtoo energetic.โ
The shelter team was disappointed, but not discouraged. They knew puppies need time, patience, and guidance. They welcomed Jodi back with open arms and quickly started the search for a new home.
It didnโt take long. Another family fell for Jodiโs charm and adopted him. But once again, it wasnโt meant to beโthey returned him, saying he didnโt do well with children.
Jodi, still just a pup, didnโt understand. He was full of love and excitement, and he just wanted to share that with someone. Still, he waited.
โ[Itโs] not his fault,โ VAC wrote on Facebook. โJodi is a sweet boy who loves to run and play in a big yard. Heโs still young, eager to learn, and just needs a little training.โ
Over the months, Jodi was adopted again and againโfive times in total. Once, the family moved and couldnโt take him. Another time, they said they no longer had time for him. Each time, the shelter staff hoped it would be the last. And each time, he was returned.
Despite everything, Jodi never gave up hope. He continues to greet visitors with his tail wagging and eyes full of hope, just waiting for the right person to walk through the door.
โJodiโs journey has been tough,โ VAC shared. โHeโs been called โtoo active,โ โnot good with kids,โ and has been returned due to moves or time constraints. But through it all, heโs stayed hopeful.โ
Now back at the shelter, Jodi is once again waitingโstill loving, still loyal, and still hoping someone will choose him for good.
Could you be the one to give Jodi the forever home heโs been waiting for? The shelter believes his perfect match is out thereโsomeone patient, kind, and ready to see just how special this little dog really is.
