Sally Field Says Her Worst On-Screen Kiss Was with Burt Reynolds
Legendary actress Sally Field, 76, didn’t hold back during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, revealing that her worst on-screen kiss was with none other than her former boyfriend and Smokey and the Bandit co-star, Burt Reynolds.
Laughing, Field admitted, “It wasn’t something he really did well,” and jokingly added that there was “a lot of drooling” during their kissing scenes.
Field and Reynolds dated for about five years after meeting on set in 1977. Although Reynolds later said he regretted how things ended, Field shared in a 2023 interview that she hadn’t spoken to him in the last 30 years of his life. “He was just not someone I could be around,” she said. “He wasn’t good for me.”
Despite ups and downs in her personal life, including a tough childhood, Field has built an iconic career with unforgettable roles in Steel Magnolias, Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire, and more. She continues to shine on screen, most recently appearing in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
