A sudden flash flood in central Texas has taken 51 lives, including 15 children, and left dozens missing—many from Camp Mystic, a girls’ summer camp along the Guadalupe River.
The flood hit before dawn Friday, with water rising over 26 feet in under an hour. Campers were caught in their sleep. So far, four girls have been confirmed dead, and 27 are still missing.
Rescue crews have saved over 850 people and are continuing search efforts by boat and helicopter. Governor Greg Abbott and President Trump pledged full support, while families wait anxiously for answers.
Witnesses described the scene as chaos. “There’s so many missing children… It’s heartbreaking,” said one visitor.
Though hope is dimming, the search goes on—with a promise to keep looking until everyone is found.
