Three young girls — Emily Rivera, Zoey Nash, and Hope Lin, ages 8 to 10 — survived nearly 10 days in the wild with no food, using only rainwater, creativity, and their bond to stay alive.
A volunteer hiker heard a faint voice whisper, “We’re here… please don’t leave,” leading to their rescue. The girls had made a shelter out of bark and towels, using a broken shoelace as a latch.
Doctors say a pre-camp safety drill helped save them — they remembered to stay dry, stay together, and stay calm. They even collected rainwater with plastic wrappers and wrung water from wet clothes.
Despite bug bites and dehydration, all three are stable. Their strength and love for their moms kept them going — and now, the world is calling them heroes.
