Close Call in Cabo: A Swimmer’s Brush with Danger
In 2011, a relaxing swim in the beautiful waters of Cabo San Lucas turned terrifying when a swimmer was suddenly pulled out to sea by a strong undertow. Though the surface looked calm, the powerful current below proved dangerous.
An undertow, a hidden flow moving opposite to surface waves, can catch even experienced swimmers off guard. Luckily, this swimmer stayed calm, swam parallel to the shore, and made it back safely.
The incident is a reminder to respect the ocean’s hidden risks and always stay aware of local warnings before diving in.
