In a world where women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized, motherhood often brings even more pressure. After having four kids, Danisha decided it was time to stop hiding and start embracing the changes pregnancy had made to her body.
“No one warned me about the loose skin or stretch marks,” she shared. “My body didn’t look like it used to — but I’ve learned to accept it and even love it.”
Tired of seeing airbrushed celebrity baby bump photos and impossible beauty standards, Danisha turned to Instagram to tell her story. Her message for other moms: “Your body isn’t broken — society is.”
The path to self-acceptance hasn’t been easy. Danisha admits that online trolls can be brutal, but she stays strong, proud of the body that brought four children into the world. “My pouch and my stretch marks don’t make me less beautiful. They remind me how strong I am.”
Danisha wants new moms to hear this loud and clear: it’s completely normal for your body to change after having a baby. “Don’t feel bad if your old clothes don’t fit. There’s nothing wrong with going up a size.”
Today, she wears her stretch marks — her “tiger stripes” — with pride. “This belly was my kids’ first home. They love it, and so do I.”
