Barret Swatek and Adam Weiss List Their Maui Estate for Auction
Actress Barret Swatek and her husband, retired hedge fund manager Adam Weiss, are saying goodbye to their Hawaiian paradise and heading back to her roots in Alabama.
As they prepare for this major move, their stunning eight-bedroom Maui estate is hitting the auction block.
The couple originally purchased the beachfront property in 2021 for $45 million, investing millions more into renovations, artwork, and custom furnishings. But after welcoming their daughter, Dixon, in 2024, they decided it was time to relocate closer to family.
“We just feel like we’re too far from them and from Barret’s family, and I think the baby kind of changed the equation on that,” Weiss told The Wall Street Journal.
Inside the Exclusive Estate
The 21,700-square-foot property is located on Keawakapu Beach near Wailea, one of South Maui’s most coveted areas. Designed by acclaimed Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, the estate features:
- Bold Geometric Designs – Vibrant colors, dramatic lighting, and striking architectural elements.
- Tranquil Courtyard – Reflecting pools create a breathtaking entrance.
- Luxury Living Spaces – A wine room, gym, yoga studio, and game room with an arcade.
- Customized Upgrades – A media room converted into a cozy library and a stylish bar off the kitchen.
- Expansive Primary Suite – Featuring a custom dressing room, with nearly all furnishings included in the sale.
Living the Island Dream
Swatek and Weiss fully embraced Maui’s natural beauty, often paddleboarding among whales just steps from their home. One of Swatek’s most unforgettable moments was watching a baby whale nurse beneath her board.
“I lay down on my board and put my mask in the water, and I watched this calf nurse from its mother for a good 10 minutes,” she recalled. “Now, a few years later, maybe that calf is back here, and I have my baby now, and we’re watching the whales together.”
A Move Back to Alabama
Despite the idyllic island setting, Swatek found herself longing for the familiarity of her Alabama upbringing. The couple plans to settle on her family’s horse farm outside Birmingham, where she spent her childhood riding bareback with her brothers.
“I’ve really cherished how I grew up,” she said. “When I came back from school, my brothers and I would hop on a horse bareback and ride for the afternoon.”
The Auction Process
Initially listed privately for $65 million, the couple has now opted for an auction to expedite the sale. The auction, managed by Concierge Auctions, will take place from April 10 to April 22, with bidding expected to start between $17.5 million and $35 million. There is no reserve price.
Luxury real estate auctions can be unpredictable, with some high-end homes selling for less than their initial listing price. However, Chad Roffers, CEO of Concierge Auctions, remains confident in the process.
“We deliver market value for our sellers in a finite time frame and have a history of setting sale records for highest prices in multiple states and countries,” Roffers said.
Swatek and Weiss are no strangers to luxury real estate. In 2022, they sold their Malibu estate—once owned by Cindy Crawford—for a staggering $70.4 million.
For buyers looking for an ultra-exclusive beachfront estate with world-class design and breathtaking ocean views, this Maui property presents a rare opportunity.
